UCD will host a women in leadership conference for the second time this coming February. The conference will be a one day event taking place on the 9th of February in the O’Reilly Hall.The conference showcases women who have excelled in their respective fields and aims to assist women in their professional development. Through networking opportunities and inspiring lectures and panels, the conference wishes to encourage women to break the proverbial glass ceilings in their careers.The event is targeted to female students, staff, alumni, and friends of UCD. Last year was the first women in leadership conference which had 14 speakers and over 500 delegates.This year, the keynote talks will be given by Breege O’Donoghue, non-executive director of Primark and Tina Roche; CEO of Business in the Community Ireland. Other speakers include Geraldine Kennedy, former Editor of the Irish Times; Ann O’Dea, CEO of Silicon Republic; Mary O’Hara a partner in PwC and Steering Committee and also Sharon Hutchinson, creator of sportswomen.ie.A standard ticket costs €75 and there is a discounted price for UCD staff and alumni of €55. Students get a further discount through purchasing their tickets on Eventbrite.
