Hosted by UCD this year, the awards capped off the ISDA Festival 2017 which saw a number of events held by UCD Dramsoc, as well as DIT Drama Society.The awards were held in The Complex, just off Capel Street, in the city centre last night. Dramsoc took home four of the awards including Best Supporting Actor for Lee Moran for his performance of Ivan in Conor McPhearson's The Seafarer.Dramsoc also saw awards for Best Director, with Emmett Farrell winning for his direction of Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again, and the production of Alice Birch's play also won Best Ensemble. Finally, Claire McIntryre's Low Level Panic won Best Overall Production. The full list of winners is available from the UCD Dramsoc Facebook page.The ISDA Festival is hosted by a different university each year, with NUIG hosting last year. The Festival saw a number of performances over the past week take place around UCD in places such as the Astra Hall from the various participating drama societies.This follows on from last year's ISDAs, where UCD similarly won four awards including Best Director and Best Actress.Further productions are planned from Dramsoc for the rest of the semester, with auditions for Paula Meehan's Cell coming to a close tomorrow. The production will be directed by Ailish Toal. Applications for the 91st Session Committee of Dramsoc are now open, with the AGM taking place on April 13th.
