UCDSU announce Christmas Day is 'back' in new Instagram post.
UCDSU President Michael Roche has officially confirmed that UCD Christmas Day will be returning as an on-campus event this year, scheduled for the 27th of November. The University is set to provide €60,000 in funding towards the event.
Over the past number of weeks, posters have appeared around campus bearing the text, “Christmas Day Returns,” making reference to the annual Christmas event occurring on UCD campus on the last Thursday of November. Last year saw restrictions placed on the celebrations, with the guest policy on student residences suspended and heightened security on campus. An email circulated to all UCD residents in 2024 stated that these measures were in response to “dangerous behaviour on campus in previous years, particularly around alcohol consumption and anti-social behaviour.” UCD Christmas Day celebrations were primarily taken off-campus, with UCDSU organising an all-day-party in Dicey’s from 12pm to 8pm.
Further details are yet to be revealed regarding the specifics of the event set to take place on the 27th of November.
