UCD Students’ Union (UCDSU) launches its inaugural Alternative Careers Fair today. The event aims to showcase career options that are not usually on offer at careers fairs. According to the press release, the event will show students that “there is more to life after UCD than the Big Four.”

UCDSU Education Officer Amy Fox has said “We understand here in the Union that there are many students that simply don’t know what they want to do when they graduate. This three-day showcase is designed to show them that there are a myriad of options they can pursue.”

The fair will run until Thursday, with events including a Barista training workshop, a cocktail making course and a lecture on social media and blogging in business. There will be an employers’ showcase in Astra Hall on Wednesday, featuring the Labour Party, SUAS, Jobbio, Jameson Distilleries, and the Goethe Institute
