The election race is underway for the six sabbatical officer roles in University College Dublin Students’ Union (UCDSU). Twelve candidates have been announced for the six sabbatical officer roles, with all but two races being contested. Last year, eight candidates ran in the sabbatical elections, with only the Presidential race being contested.

Ten college officer positions are also open, representing various schools in UCD, along with the Smurfit campus. The part-time position of Oifigeach na Gaeilge is also open for election. Nominations for the roles remained open until Monday February 9th at 5pm, extended from the initial closing date of Friday February 6th, in light of a Status Orange weather warning.

Hustings for the College Officer roles are set to be held on the 23rd of February at 4:30PM, whilst Sabbatical Officer Hustings are set to take place on the 26th of February. Voting will open at 08:00 on Tuesday the 3rd of March and will close at 20:00 on Thursday the 5th of March. Voting will take place online via the Mi-Voice platform.

Results of the elections will be announced on the 6th of March.
