Many students attempting to vote in the ongoing elections for Class Representatives are finding that they are unable to do so.
When many students attempted to log in, they were redirected back to the homepage where they were asked to register to vote, despite having already registered. Students have largely been unable to gain access to a page that allows them to cast their votes.
UCDSU Campaigns and Engagement Officer Darryl Horan told The University Observer “We are aware of issues this morning with voting for class rep election, and have made contact with the voting platform MSL [Membership Solutions Limited] seeking a resolution. Currently these issues are around registration to the correct constituency and the ability to log in”.
The issue arose when students started making attempts to vote earlier today, the number of students who have actually been able to vote is unclear.
Horan also asked that “Anyone with these or other outstanding issues should email returningoffice@ucdsu.ie and we’ll ensure that everyone has an opportunity to cast their vote. We apologise for any technical issues, and will work to iron out any problem”
Membership Solutions Ltd. have yet to respond to a request for comment.
