Sabbats creamed as students look on

UCD Students' Union sabbatical officers took to a rainy campus this afternoon to receive facefuls of cream to raise money for the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre and Peter McVerry Trust.

The sabbaticals will be outside the James Joyce Library until 2pm today where students can donate €2 to cover the faces of their favourite (or least favourite) officer in a plate of whipped cream.

The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre (DRCC) offers counselling and support to victims of rape and other forms of sexual violence. Located on Leeson Street Lower, the DRCC also offer training in sexual violence disclosure, counselling and listening skills and staff wellbeing while working with trauma.

The Peter McVerry trust is a charity organisation that aims to reduce homelessness and provides help for people suffering from drug misuse and people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The trust provides supported temporary accommodation, temporary emergency accommodation and emergency accommodation for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
