Letter from the Editors: OTwo XXXII Issue 3

We are back with our third issue of OTwo!

We are back with our third issue of OTwo

We hope midterms are coming to a finish, rather than midterms are finishing you. It’s not long now till the fun of finals kicks in! (Seriously, get yourself to the library asap and lock in. Those seats will not be free till semester 2). This is our last issue before Christmas, so we made sure to include some festive themed articles!

If you find you are struggling for gift ideas, make sure to gift yours truly a copy of issue 3 of the University Observer. Alternatively, we can also be used as wrapping paper (yes we just want the promotion while your family argues over Monopoly).

As always, if you are involved in an event you would like us to mention in OTwo, get in touch!

In this issue, we sat down with Christian Lawlor, founder and owner of men's fashion brand Kempt, from Dublin, who recently held his first pop up shop in Dublin.

In Literature and Drama our section editor Gemma Bini celebrates Palestinian voices, while in Film and Television, Katie Byrne looks ahead to the release of the final season of Stranger Things. Over in Fashion, section editor Polly Rogers provides a guide of the best spots for vintage fashion in Dublin, while in Music, section editor Barry Fenton sat down with Wobblin Jude for an interview. In Arts and Creativity, OTwo Editor Laura Molly considers the psychology of colour while over in our Games section, she discusses the best games for Christmas. In Food and Drink, Marta Bueno Arcos compiles a much needed list of simple student-friendly recipes while in Travel, she also asks the question, is speaking English necessary for travelling? Finally  in Nightlife, Charlie Kennedy analyses Index’s student night, ‘Loose Ends’.

From interviews to culinary inspiration, we hope you enjoy this issue! And, the very best of luck in your upcoming finals.

All the best,

Alice and Laura x
