Irish cinematographer Darran Tiernan has won the 2026 Emmy award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Series (One Hour) for the superhero series Spider-Noir during the “craft” Emmys in Los Angeles.

The IADT graduate and Portrane native, who has worked on The Penguin, Barry and Westworld, won for the Prime Video tv show which streamed in both colour and black and white.

The ceremony, which took place in the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, crowned the show with five Emmys for stunt co-ordination, title design, special visual effects and sound editing, days after it emerged that the Nicholas cage series would be cancelled after one season.

The Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on 15th September.
