6 Insane Gadgets From CES 2016

The Consumer Electronics Show took place in Las Vegas last week, where 3,600 companies exhibited gadgets and software to almost 200,000 attendees. In the past, CES has debuted the Xbox, the self-driving car, 3D printers and HD TVs, and this year’s attractions were no less impressive. However, the only downside is that many of the products won’t be available to the public for at least a year. Here’s a look at some of the insane gadgets we need in our lives right now.

Samsung FamilyHub Fridge

Samsung Fridge          Getty Images/Alex Wong This is essentially a fridge with a 21.5 inch smartphone screen built in. You can view the contents without opening it, play some music while you decide what to munch on, or even order food with the tap of a button. It can even send a message to your phone to let you know when the milk is running low. The only drawback? It’ll cost you around €4500.

LG’s LED Rollable Screen

Although it might not have much use at the moment (what would we ever need to roll a screen for?), it could mean big things for the future of flexible smartphones. Also, the video looks pretty cool.

LifePrint

https://vine.co/v/ihieMUm6tiW This is still looking for Kickstarter funding, but it might just be the most amazing thing we’ve ever seen. LifePrint allows you to print out a standard photo, but embedded in that photo is video content of your choosing that can only be accessed by scanning the photo with a smartphone. So, theoretically you could give your friend a photo of your latest Instagram picture, but when they scan it they could see a collection of your funniest Snapchat stories. The possibilities are endless.

Virtual Reality Porn

vrp We’ve all seen those Virtual Reality headsets like Oculus Rift, Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear, but it was only a matter of time until people started imagining what it would be like to use these devices to introduce porn to the world of Virtual Reality. Adult Entertainment company Naughty America has been doing just that, and this year they debuted a number of simulations where you are in fact immersed in the set of a porn video. It’s a little risqué, but definitely something a lot of people would be interested in trying.

Ampware iPhone Case

AmpwareAmpware The iPhone battery is notoriously terrible, and there are numerous juicepacks and powerbank cases out there to try make your battery last that little bit longer. But what happens when the powerbank runs out? Complete social media isolation, that’s what. Ampware has the solution to this: a mobile phone case that can generate power manually by cranking a lever. Five minutes of cranking can generate up to five hours standby battery life. We’ll take 10 please.

Under Armour Gemini 2 Runners

Under Armour GeminiMashable So many people use some form of tech to track their fitness nowadays, whether it’s through an app like MapMyRun or My Fitness Pal on your phone, or a wearable device such as FitBit or Jawbone. However Under Armour have taken it one step further and built sensors into their runners to track your movement. Your workouts are recorded in real time and sent to an app on your phone. This could be especially handy when you don’t have enough battery to use a tracking app and listen to music, or if you prefer to run without your phone. The only downside is obviously you have to be wearing the runners for it to be logged, and they probably don’t go with everything in your wardrobe.
